Paula Ann Carpenter Drake, Born July 31, 1936 Los Angeles, California, died September 1, 2008 in South Pasadena, California. Preceded in death by her mother Hope Willard, father Paul Carpenter, husband Ronald J Drake Sr, son Ronald J Drake Jr, survived by daughters Tracy Eileen Drake, Jennifer L Drake, Marjorie K Drake and Laurie Sue Drake.

Paula Drake rehabbed squirrels for many years without any permits. Someone reported her and Fish & Game went to her house and left a citation for having wildlife without a permit. They told her to get rid of the wildlife. Instead she hid her squirrels in a safe house. Then she hired a lawyer and contacted the media. Fish & Game dropped the case against her. They let her keep her squirrels and continue to rehab squirrels for many years without any permits or legal caging whatsoever.
