Skunk with Bone Tumor, Facial Growth by Animal Advocates Mary Cummins

The Studio City coyote with the facial growth reminds us of a case we had with a skunk. Skunk had a hard growth in the upper jaw area. It took us a few days to find a vet who would see and xray a wild intact skunk that would spray. The eye, nose and teeth were pushed a little out of position like this coyote. She had issues breathing, eating, drinking. We hoped it was a fleshy growth but weren't optimistic. Xray showed osteosarcoma i.e. bone cancer. Vet said he could grind some off but it'd just grow back. Her body weight was good because we were syringe feeding her.
